| Cycle | What you pay | What the cards do | Listed price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay yearly | Checked on the first load. The label beside the control is “Save up to 20% with yearly.” | Free, Plus, and Business still print a per-member per-month price. The page does not print a yearly lump sum. | See the Notion pricing page for the price under this control. |
| Pay monthly | The other control. It was not checked on the first load. | The same Free, Plus, and Business cards. Plus and Business print a higher per-member per-month price. Free does not change. | See the Notion pricing page for the price under this control. |
| Free | The same price on both controls. | The card is for individuals organizing personal projects and life. | $0 per seat/month |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing on both controls. The card says Contact Sales. The grid says Contact us. | The card is for organizations that need scalability, control, and security. That line is not a public price. | Custom pricing |

Save up to 20% with yearly
If you upgrade your workspace to one of the paid plans, you will be charged a fee per member.
Guests are free of charge – but they can only access individual pages they are invited to.
That is the yearly label and the member-fee sentence. A dollar turned out of “Save up to 20% with yearly” was not on the page. The guest line is not a second billing cycle.
Billing controls and the member-fee FAQ: Notion — pricing. Accessed 2026-10-19.
What the member cards print
The price sits on the card as a per-member monthly figure. The grid repeats it as per seat/month. Neither control prints a charge for the whole year.
The listed prices on the pricing page are Free $0 per seat/month, Plus $10 per seat/month, and Business $20 per seat/month, last re-read on 2026-10-29. Check which billing control shows each price before you pick a cycle. Free does not change between the controls. Plus and Business print a higher price on Pay monthly.
Enterprise printed Custom pricing on both controls. The card button says Contact Sales. The grid says Contact us. There is no public Enterprise price.
A plan label on a card does not choose the cycle. Which column earns the step is on Notion Free vs Plus and Notion Plus vs Business. The four-plan map is Notion pricing explained.
The page also prints an add-on line for Custom Agents and a “Pay per domain” line. Those prices are on the pricing page. They do not change the billing control.

When the year up front earns it
Read one situation at a time. A blank on the 2026-10-19 read stays —.
Swipe sideways on a narrow screen. Not a scored table.
| Situation | Cycle that fits | Why, from the page read |
|---|---|---|
| You will stay the year and can pay it up front | Pay yearly | The control label is “Save up to 20% with yearly.” Plus and Business print a lower per-member monthly price on Pay yearly than on Pay monthly. |
| You may leave soon after signup | Read the window, then the cycle | The pricing FAQ refunds the full amount, not pro-rated, within three days of signing up for monthly billing, or within 30 days of signing up for annual billing. A region with a mandatory refund policy may extend a monthly refund past 72 hours. The example given is 14 days in the European Union. |
| You may cancel after that window | Pay monthly if the year is not settled | Annual or monthly, the subscription renews until you cancel, and paid features last until the end of the billing cycle. The FAQ does not print a partial refund after the signup window. |
| You will add or remove members during the term | Either control, then expect a monthly seat charge | The FAQ says a yearly schedule can still be charged monthly when membership changes. An added member is a prorated charge when no paid seat is open. A removed member is not a credit; the seat stays open for the rest of the billing period. At renewal, monthly or annual, the charge is the plan amount multiplied by the number of members. |
| You may upgrade or downgrade the plan | Either control | An upgrade charges immediately, and the amount due is reduced by the percentage of the billing cycle left. A downgrade waits until the end of the billing cycle. |
| You need an invoice or a wire to pay | Not named on the accepted-payment answer | That answer says Notion accepts all major credit and debit card brands. An invoice-or-wire purchase line: —. Admins can download invoice PDFs under Settings and members, then Billing. That is a record of a charge, not a second way to pay. |
| Free | Neither paid cycle | Free is $0 per seat/month on the pricing page, with either control checked. |
| Enterprise | Contact Sales | Custom pricing on both controls. The card says Contact Sales. The grid says Contact us. There is no public price. |
What a seat change, cancel, and a refund do
The lock-in is the cycle already chosen, and what the pricing FAQ says when the team changes size, leaves, or asks for the charge back.
Whether you're on a monthly or yearly billing schedule, your account may be charged on a monthly basis if you make changes in membership. If you added members, your account will be charged a prorated amount based on the percentage of the billing cycle left when a user was added. If you removed members, you will not receive credit but instead will still have use of that seat for a different user for the remainder of the billing period.
When your billing cycle renews, either monthly or annually, you will be charged for your plan amount multiplied by the number of members in your workspace, plus any prorated charges for new paid seats added in the past month.
Those two answers are the seat rule. They name a prorated charge and a plan amount multiplied by the member count. They do not print the prorated dollar or a bill for several members.
Upgrading your plan: Your account will be upgraded and charged immediately. The amount due will be reduced based on the percentage of the billing cycle left at the time the plan was changed. Downgrading your plan: Your account will be downgraded at the end of your billing cycle.
Your Notion subscription, annual or monthly, will automatically renew until you cancel it. You can cancel your subscription by going to Settings in the left-hand sidebar on a desktop computer, then selecting Billing, then Change plan. After you cancel, you’ll still have access to all the paid features until the end of your billing cycle.
We'll be happy to refund you the full amount (not pro-rated) if you downgrade your subscription within three days of signing up for monthly billing, or within 30 days of signing up for annual billing.
If you live in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another region with a mandatory refund policy, you may be eligible for a monthly subscription refund past 72 hours. For example, customers in the European Union can receive a full refund for a monthly subscription within 14 days of purchase, rather than 72 hours.
The refund sentences name windows. They do not print a refund dollar. The same FAQ says to write from inside the app or to team@makenotion.com. A price in another currency: —.
We currently accept all major credit and debit card brands.
Workspace admins can access, view, and download your workspace's invoices by going to Settings & members → Billing, then scrolling to Invoices.
Cards are the payment method that FAQ names. Downloading an invoice is a record of a charge. An invoice-or-wire purchase line on that page: —. A failed payment may be retried, then the workspace can be restricted and later moved to Free.
Seats, cancel, refund, and payment method: Notion — pricing. Accessed 2026-10-19.

FAQ
What does this page decide?
When paying Notion for a year up front is worth the lock-in, and when a monthly cycle wins. It starts after you already use Notion. On https://www.notion.com/pricing, read 2026-10-19, the controls are Pay monthly and Pay yearly. Pay yearly was checked on the first load. The label beside it is “Save up to 20% with yearly.” This page does not pick Free, Plus, Business, or Enterprise.
What does Pay yearly show?
Pay yearly was the checked control on the first load. The page was in English (US), at 1440px wide, and the currency control said Price in USD. The cards still print a per-member per-month price. The listed prices on the pricing page are Free $0 per seat/month, Plus $10 per seat/month, and Business $20 per seat/month. Check which control shows each price. Enterprise printed Custom pricing. The card says Contact Sales. The grid says Contact us. The page does not print a yearly lump sum.
What does Pay monthly show?
Pay monthly was not the checked control on the first load. With it checked, Free does not change, Plus and Business print a higher per-member per-month price, and Enterprise stays Custom pricing. Read the Pay monthly prices on the Notion pricing page.
Is the year a discount, and by how much?
The control label is “Save up to 20% with yearly.” Plus and Business print a lower per-member monthly price on Pay yearly than on Pay monthly.
What if I add or remove a member?
The pricing FAQ, accessed 2026-10-19, says a monthly or yearly schedule can still be charged in the month you change membership. Adding a member charges a prorated amount based on the percentage of the billing cycle left, when no paid seat is open. Removing a member does not return a credit. The seat stays usable for someone else for the rest of the billing period. When the cycle renews, monthly or annual, the charge is the plan amount multiplied by the number of members, plus prorated charges for new paid seats.
What happens if I cancel or change plan?
The pricing FAQ says the subscription, annual or monthly, renews until you cancel. After you cancel, paid features last until the end of the billing cycle. Cancel is Settings, then Billing, then Change plan, on a desktop. An upgrade charges immediately, and the amount due is reduced by the percentage of the cycle left. A downgrade waits until the end of the billing cycle.
What is the refund window?
The pricing FAQ says Notion will refund the full amount, not pro-rated, if you downgrade within three days of signing up for monthly billing, or within 30 days of signing up for annual billing. A region with a mandatory refund policy may allow a monthly refund past 72 hours. The example is a full monthly refund within 14 days for customers in the European Union.
How do I pay?
The accepted-payment answer names all major credit and debit card brands. That answer does not name an invoice or wire purchase. Workspace admins can download invoice PDFs from Settings and members, then Billing. A failed card may be retried up to 8 times within the next month. After that, the workspace can be restricted and later moved to the Free plan. A student line says the Plus plan with a 1-member limit is free for students and educators. It does not name a yearly or monthly dollar.
What is the Enterprise price?
Custom pricing, on both Pay yearly and Pay monthly. The card says Contact Sales. The grid says Contact us. There is no public price on either control.
Does this page add scores?
No. The four-plan map is Notion pricing explained. The plan steps are Notion Free vs Plus and Notion Plus vs Business. The same billing-cycle question on another product is Make annual vs monthly, Zapier annual vs monthly, or n8n annual vs monthly.
