Notion vs Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda) for small-team wikis and docs

Notion is a workspace of pages. Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda) is one living doc with pages, tables, and Packs. Pick by the writing job. Workspace totals are not published yet.

Pick Notion or Superhuman Docs

Notion

Pick Notion if…

The daily object is a workspace of pages — a handbook, nested wiki pages, or a brief you open from a database row. People write across pages, not inside one file. Or the team already lives in that wiki.

Superhuman Docs

Pick Superhuman Docs if…

The daily object is one living doc — a working file with tables, buttons, and Packs in the same place. Few people add pages; many edit what is already there. Or that doc already holds the wiki and the Jul 2026 rename did not split it.

The Jul 2026 rename does not pick a wiki

Coda became Superhuman Docs on 8 Jul 2026. Superhuman’s help article says existing docs, tables, Packs, automations, formulas, and Maker billing stay. Existing coda.io links redirect to docs.superhuman.com. Superhuman says you do not need to move or rebuild.

A workspace of pages vs one living doc

This pair is two writing objects. Notion’s row is a page in a workspace. Superhuman Docs pages live inside one file. Name that object before you wire a run — Name one system of record for small-team ops.

Workspace wiki

Notion — pages across a workspace

Databases are collections of pages. Open a row and you add text, images, and nested pages the way you would on any other Notion page. If the daily job is a brief next to the tracker across a workspace, Notion is the better pick in this pair.

Living doc

Superhuman Docs — pages inside one file

Docs contain pages. Superhuman Docs describes those pages like tabs in a spreadsheet. Tables and connected views live in that file. If people never leave one working doc to write, Superhuman Docs is the better pick in this pair.

When Notion is the better wiki

Notion is the better pick when writing lives across a workspace of pages — not a reason to pick it for every job, and not a reason to rip out a wiki that still fits.

Notion

The handbook spans a workspace

People open different pages for policy, onboarding, and meeting notes. Nested pages and teamspaces hold the wiki. That is a workspace of pages, not one file with tabs.

Notion

Opening the row is opening the brief

Every database item is a Notion page. Properties sit on top; the page body holds the write-up. If the daily move is open the tracker row and keep writing, pick Notion in this pair.

Notion

Members should be able to add pages

Paid Notion plans bill per workspace member. Members write across the wiki. Can edit content can change pages and property values, not views or properties. Guests stay page-level.

When Superhuman Docs is the better living doc

Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda) is the better pick when the wiki is one working file — not a reason to pick it for every job, and not a reason to rip out a doc that still fits after the rename.

Superhuman Docs

The wiki is one working file

Writing, tables, buttons, and Packs sit together. Superhuman Docs describes pages like tabs in a spreadsheet. The Jul 2026 rename did not split that object into a Notion workspace.

Superhuman Docs

A page is a tab, not a workspace leaf

Docs contain pages, and subpages nest under a page in that same doc. Tables and connected views stay in the file. If people never leave that doc to write, Superhuman Docs is the better pick.

Superhuman Docs

Few people should create pages

Maker billing charges Doc Makers in paid workspaces. Editors and viewers are free. Creating a doc or page, or using Docs AI beyond the free trial, is a Maker action — and the default can auto-promote an Editor. Admins can change that default. Verify the current plan on the vendor page.

Who can add a page

Name who may grow the wiki before you rely on it. That is a pick, not a score.

  • Notion. Paid plans bill per workspace member. Members can create pages across the workspace. Can edit content is database-only — those people create and edit pages and property values, but they cannot add, edit, or remove properties or views. Guests get page-level access and are more limited.
  • Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda). Editors update existing pages. Creating a doc or page is a Doc Maker action. By default, an Editor who takes a Maker action — create a doc or page, or use Docs AI beyond the free trial — becomes a Doc Maker. Admins can change that default. Packs install per doc, not across the workspace.

Moving a wiki is a rebuild

Superhuman Docs can copy/paste canvas and tables, download a table as CSV, export a page as PDF, or dump owned docs from Account Settings. Source: Superhuman Docs — export data, accessed 2026-09-17.

That dump is not a Notion workspace of pages. Formulas, buttons, automations, and Packs do not arrive as a running wiki. Opening a Notion page also does not become a Superhuman Docs living doc. Rebuild the wiki if the job changed — do not rebuild it because the product changed names. Longer stay-or-move: Coda is now Superhuman Docs — stay, or move to Airtable / Notion?.
