When the year up front earns it

| Situation | Cycle that fits | Why, from the page read |
|---|---|---|
| You will stay the year and can pay it up front | Billed annually | The wide window prints a lower per-seat monthly price on the annual line than on the monthly line. The billing FAQ calls the annual charge a discounted rate. A dollar turned out of that rate: —. A yearly lump sum: —. |
| You cannot pay the year up front | Billed monthly | The billing FAQ says the payment system does not support split payments. If you are unable to pay for the plan upfront on an annual cadence, Airtable offers a monthly plan. The change is Workspace settings, then Change billing plan. |
| The team size may go up and down | Billed monthly | The collaborators article says a monthly plan is not charged for a new billable collaborator until the following month’s billing date. An annual plan is charged for that collaborator’s full remaining annual contract. A dollar for the remaining contract: —. The same article recommends a monthly billing cycle when team size fluctuates. |
| You may remove someone during the term | Either line, then the seat stays | Removing a billable collaborator mid-cycle does not reduce the current invoice. The paid seat stays available until the end of the billing cycle. You are not billed for that seat at the next renewal. A credit dollar: —. |
| You may switch the cadence later | Read the direction | Monthly to annual: the plan converts, and the year is invoiced at the end of the current month, for each billable collaborator for exactly 12 months, at the discounted rate for the annual billing plan. Annual to monthly: the annual plan stays until the current billing cycle ends, then renews monthly at the monthly rate. A dollar for those 12 months: —. |
| You may need the charge back soon after the invoice | Read the window, then the cycle | A courtesy refund for an accidental billable collaborator, or an accidental plan upgrade, is within 7 days of the invoice on a monthly plan, and within 14 days of the invoice on an annual plan. What a seat change, a cadence switch, and a refund do
The lock-in is the line already chosen, and what Airtable’s billing help says when the team changes size, switches cadence, or asks for the charge back.
Monthly plans: After adding billable collaborators to a workspace on a monthly plan, workspace owners aren't charged until the following month's billing date.
Annual plans: After adding billable collaborators to a workspace on an annual plan, workspace owners are charged for that collaborator's full remaining annual contract.
Removing billable collaborators mid-billing cycle does not reduce your current invoice, but it will ensure you aren’t billed for that seat at your next renewal. If your team size fluctuates, or you’d like more control over your budget, we recommend a monthly billing cycle.
Those three answers are the seat rule by cycle. They name a following month, a remaining annual contract, and a monthly billing cycle when the team size moves. They do not print the prorated dollar or a bill for several seats. Both figures: —.
Charges are prorated: users with edit permissions added partway through the month will only be charged for the days after they were added.
Charges are prorated: collaborators with edit permissions added partway through the billing cycle will only be charged for the months after they were added.
The pricing FAQ names a prorated charge by days, and a prorated charge by months, on two different answers. This page quotes both. A prorated dollar: —.
Monthly plan customers who switch to the annual plan will be automatically converted to the annual plan, but will not be invoiced for the entire year until the end of the current month. At that point, they will be charged for each billable collaborator for exactly 12 months—at the discounted rate for the annual billing plan.
Annual plan customers who switch to the monthly plan will remain on the annual plan until the end of their current billing cycle. After your annual billing cycle ends, your plan will renew on a monthly cadence at the monthly rate.
That is the switch. “Exactly 12 months” and “discounted rate” are the vendor’s words. A dollar for those 12 months: —. A dollar turned out of the discounted rate: —.
Monthly plan customers: If a billable collaborator is accidentally added, we’re happy to offer a courtesy refund if you contact us within 7 days of receiving your invoice.
Annual plan customers: If a billable collaborator is accidentally added, we’re happy to offer a courtesy refund if you contact us within 14 days of receiving your invoice.
Monthly plan customers: If a workspace plan is accidentally upgraded, we’re happy to offer a courtesy refund if you contact us within 7 days of receiving your invoice.
Annual plan customers: If a workspace plan is accidentally upgraded, we’re happy to offer a courtesy refund if you contact us within 14 days of receiving your invoice.
The refund sentences name windows. They do not print a refund dollar. That dollar: —. Remove the collaborator, or downgrade the plan, before you ask. A region with a mandatory refund policy may be eligible inside the period that regional law names. A dollar for that region: —.
All payments are made via credit card for Team workspaces, and for Business if purchased through your workspace settings tab. For Business and Enterprise Scale accounts purchased through our sales team, we can issue an annual invoice with payment via PO and/or ACH, wire, or check.
No. Our payment system is set up to upload only one credit card at a time and does not support splitting payments. If you are unable to pay for the plan upfront on an annual cadence, we offer a monthly plan.
Yes, all Airtable plans are billed in USD (United States Dollars) regardless of location.
Cards are the self-serve payment method that FAQ names. An annual invoice is the sales-led path. A self-serve wire line: —. A converted dollar from another currency: —. The bank handles that conversion, not Airtable.

FAQ
What does this page decide?
When paying Airtable for a year up front is worth the lock-in, and when the monthly line wins. It starts after you already use Airtable. On https://airtable.com/pricing, read 2026-10-19, there is no billing switch. The large card price is billed annually. A second line, billed monthly, shows on a wide window. This page does not pick Free, Team, Business, or Enterprise Scale.
What do Team and Business list at?
Team is $20 per seat/month and Business is $45 per seat/month, in USD. Check the billing cycle on the pricing page before you choose. Enterprise Scale prints Custom pricing and Contact Sales. The pricing page does not print a yearly lump sum.
What does the monthly line show?
A second line under the Team and Business cards on the Airtable pricing page, at a higher per-seat price than the annual line. Read both lines there before you choose a cycle.
Is the year a discount, and by how much?
The pricing page did not print a percent label on this read. The billing FAQ, accessed 2026-10-19, says a switch from monthly to annual is charged “at the discounted rate for the annual billing plan.” Team and Business print a lower per-seat monthly price on the annual line than on the monthly line. A dollar turned out of that rate: —. A yearly lump sum: —.
What if I add or remove a person?
The collaborators article, accessed 2026-10-19, says a monthly plan is not charged for a new billable collaborator until the following month’s billing date. An annual plan is charged for that collaborator’s full remaining annual contract. Removing a billable collaborator mid-cycle does not reduce the current invoice. A dollar for the remaining annual contract: —. A bill for several seats: —.
What happens if I switch cadence?
The billing FAQ, accessed 2026-10-19, says monthly customers who switch to annual are converted now, and are not invoiced for the entire year until the end of the current month. They are then charged for each billable collaborator for exactly 12 months, at the discounted rate for the annual billing plan. Annual customers who switch to monthly stay on the annual plan until the current billing cycle ends, then renew monthly at the monthly rate. A dollar for those 12 months: —.
What is the refund window?
The refund article, accessed 2026-10-19, offers a courtesy refund if you contact Airtable within 7 days of the invoice on a monthly plan, or within 14 days of the invoice on an annual plan. A region with a mandatory refund policy may be eligible inside the period that regional law names. That dollar: —.
How do I pay?
The pricing FAQ says Team workspaces, and Business bought in workspace settings, pay by credit card. Business and Enterprise Scale bought through sales can be an annual invoice paid by PO, ACH, wire, or check. The billing overview says self-serve plans accept credit cards, debit cards, bank debits, ACH for U.S. customers, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Split payments are not supported. If you cannot pay the year up front, the same FAQ points at the monthly plan. A price in another currency: —. All plans are billed in USD. The bank handles conversion.
What is the Enterprise Scale price?
Custom pricing on the wide window. The card says Contact Sales. The pricing FAQ says Enterprise Scale plan pricing is custom. Sales-led billing is calculated differently, and the billing overview says to ask sales. No public dollar. Enterprise Scale: —.
Does this page add scores?
No. The four-plan map is Airtable pricing explained. The plan steps are Airtable Free vs Team and Airtable Team vs Business. The same billing-cycle question on another product is Make annual vs monthly, Zapier annual vs monthly, n8n annual vs monthly, or Notion annual vs monthly.
