What this page tells you. When Zapier Free is enough, and when Professional earns the upgrade. This page shows dated plan limits from Zapier’s pricing page and Help Center, accessed 2026-10-05. It quotes the listed Free and Professional prices, last re-read on 2026-10-29. It does not copy the other task tiers. It does not turn “Pay yearly (Save 33%)” into a savings figure. This page vs the other reads
When Zapier is still the right pick is whether Zapier is the product. This page starts after that yes.
Zapier pricing explained is the four-column map: Free, Professional, Team, and Enterprise, plus what a task counts. This page walks one step, Free against Professional, and stops.
Zapier Professional vs Team is the next step, after Professional. This page does not walk it.
Zapier Team vs Enterprise is the step after that. When Team is enough, and when Enterprise earns a sales conversation. This page does not walk it.
When free isn’t enough is the cross-tool cliff: Zapier Free, Make Free, the n8n Cloud trial, and n8n self-host. This page stays on Zapier.
Tasks vs credits vs executions is the dictionary of three words. This page does not reprint what a task counts.
When you hit the meter is the ceiling on Zapier, Make, and n8n together. This page quotes Zapier’s hold line for a plan that does not include pay-per-task, then stops.
This page is the Free vs Professional step. When the free card is enough. When Professional’s limits earn the price. The Professional price quoted here is the listed price. Other task tiers are not printed.
What Free actually gives
These lines are the Free card on Zapier pricing and the Free-plan Help Center article, accessed 2026-10-05. The yearly radio was the checked billing control. Its label is “Pay yearly (Save 33%).”
Start automating with AI. Zaps, Tables, and Forms included (100 tasks per month).
The same card says Free forever. The listed price is $0/month, last re-read on 2026-10-29. The key-feature list is the Zapier automation platform, unlimited Zaps, Tables, and Forms, two-step Zaps, and Zapier Copilot.
When you sign up for a Zapier account, you’ll get a 14-day trial to explore the premium features of a paid plan. If you decide not to upgrade to a paid plan at the end of this period, or if you downgrade to the Free plan, these features will no longer be available.
After that trial, Help Center says Free includes unlimited Zap workflows, tables, and forms; 100 tasks per month to use between Zap workflows and MCP server actions; 2,500 table records; 10 form project pages; one user; a 15-minute polling interval; and two-step Zaps, which are one trigger and one action. It also lists two-factor authentication, drafts, custom actions, custom test records, Copilot, free versions of Chatbots and Agents, and the Zapier Community.
The majority of triggers are polling triggers. They poll the app for data at regular intervals. The interval depends on your Zapier plan.
That table prints Free at 15 minutes and Professional at 2 minutes. Instant triggers are a different kind: the app sends the event. The same article says you cannot change a trigger’s type.
What Professional unlocks
Read a row only where the pricing page or the Help Center printed a difference. A blank on the 2026-10-05 read stays —. A dash or a check is a mark, not a sentence.
Unlock the full power of the Zapier platform with unlimited access to Zaps, Tables, and Forms.
The listed Professional price is $19.99/month, last re-read on 2026-10-29. Check the task volume and billing cycle on the pricing page. Its key features are multi-step Zaps, unlimited premium apps, webhooks, email and live chat support, AI fields, and conditional form logic.

| Task allowance | 100 tasks per month | — | Free card: “Zaps, Tables, and Forms included (100 tasks per month).” Help Center: 100 tasks per month, shared by Zap workflows and MCP server actions. The Professional card does not print its own task total. The page asks how many tasks you need. A Professional-only total: —. |
| Zap steps | Two-step | Multi-step | Comparison table. Help Center: a two-step Zap is one trigger and one action. Paid plans add more than one action. |
| Update interval | 15 min | 2 min | Comparison table, “Polling time.” Help Center trigger table: Free 15 minutes, Professional 2 minutes. On Pro and above you can change how often a polling trigger checks. |
| Premium apps | Not on Free | On Professional | The Professional card lists “Unlimited Premium apps.” The comparison row is a dash on Free and a check on Professional. |
| Webhooks | Not on Free | On Professional | The Professional card lists Webhooks. The comparison row “Connections via webhooks” is a dash on Free and a check on Professional. |
| Filters and paths | Not on Free | On Professional | Comparison row “Filters & Paths.” The Free cell is a dash. The Professional cell is a check. |
| Formatter | Not on Free | On Professional | Comparison row “Formatter.” The Free cell is a dash. The Professional cell is a check. |

What the upgrade does not buy
These cells are not a reason to leave Free for Professional. They are on the same read, accessed 2026-10-05.
Swipe sideways on a narrow screen. Not a scored table.
| Limit | Free and Professional | Where it is printed |
|---|---|---|
| Seats | 1 | Comparison table. Professional does not add a second user. The Team card prints 25 users. That is a later step. |
| Zaps, tables, and forms you can create | Unlimited on both cards | The Free card lists unlimited Zaps, Tables, and Forms. The comparison rows for unlimited Zaps, number of tables, and form projects are checks or “Unlimited” on both. |
| Steps inside one Zap | 100 steps, on the Zap-limits page | Help Center: Zap workflows are limited to 100 steps, including steps inside paths. That sentence is not a Free-versus-Professional cell. A plan that removes it: —. |
| Private-app rate | 100 requests every 60 seconds | Help Center groups Free and Professional together. Team and Enterprise are 5,000 requests every 60 seconds. Stepping to Professional does not buy that rate. |
| One-minute polling | Not this step | The comparison table prints 1 min under Team and Enterprise. Professional is 2 min. Help Center’s paid-plan line, “polling times of up to 1 minute,” covers plans past Professional. This page does not treat that line as the Professional cell. |
Shared Zaps, shared app connections, SAML SSO, and priority support are on the Team card. The Team card prints 25 users. The listed Team price is $69/month, last re-read on 2026-10-29. That step is Zapier Professional vs Team. The sales conversation after Team is Zapier Team vs Enterprise. The four-column map stays on Zapier pricing explained. Enterprise prints Contact for pricing.
Signs you have outgrown Free
Stay on Free when one trigger, one action, 100 tasks a month, a 15-minute check, and the free app list cover the work. Professional earns the step when one of these is true on the 2026-10-05 read.
- The Zap needs a second action. Free is two-step. Professional is multi-step. Filters and paths are a dash on Free and a check on Professional.
- The app is a premium app, or the step is a webhook. Both are on the Professional card and off the Free column.
- 100 tasks a month is used up and the runs have to continue. Pay-per-task is not on Free. Help Center says runs at the task limit are held, not lost.
- A 15-minute check is too slow. Professional’s polling cell is 2 minutes, and Pro can change that interval. One minute is the Team and Enterprise cell.
- You need email support, autoreplay, or a previous version of the Zap. Those rows are a dash on Free and a check on Professional. Live chat starts at the Professional 2,000-task tier.
- Tables pass 2,500 records, or forms pass 10 pages. Professional prints 100,000 records and 50 form pages.
Your Zap runs will be held, not lost. Held runs are paused and can be replayed from your Zap History once you have available tasks.
The same page says flood-protection settings can be adjusted on a paid plan. A second builder is not on this list. Professional is still one seat. The ceiling across tools is on When you hit the meter.
