This page vs the other reads

n8n Starter vs Pro is the step under this one. What Pro adds over Starter, while both cards say Hosted by n8n. This page starts after that yes.

n8n pricing explained is the four-column map: Starter, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, plus what an execution counts and the overage line. This page walks one step, Pro against Business, and stops.

When n8n Cloud is the right pick is whether hosted n8n is the product. This page starts after you are already on Cloud Pro.

When n8n self-host is worth it is whether you should run the box. This page names that Business requires that yes. It does not reprint the ops case.

n8n alternatives is a switch list. This page stays on n8n.

Tasks vs credits vs executions is the dictionary of three words. This page does not reprint what an execution counts.

When you hit the meter is the ceiling on Zapier, Make, and n8n together. This page does not reprint it.

This page is the Pro vs Business step. When Hosted by n8n is still enough. When the Business card earns the price, and the box that comes with it. Prices for both cards, and other execution steps, are on n8n’s pricing page.

Business leaves n8n-hosted Cloud

The Pro card and the Business card are not two sizes of the same host. On the 2026-10-07 read, Pro says Hosted by n8n. Business says Self-hosted only.

For companies with < 100 employees needing collaboration and scale.

The Business button is Start free trial. The line under that button is Self-hosted only. The card also prints Self-hosted. A text link on the same card reads “Hosted by n8n?” Its accessible name is “Join the waitlist for the Business plan hosted by n8n.” That is a waitlist.

Once you subscribe to the Business plan and complete your payment, you'll receive your license key by email. You'll need to apply this key to your Community instance.

The same answer says n8n will not automatically cancel an existing subscription, and it names Starter, Pro, Startup, Enterprise, and other Business plans. If you want one of those cancelled, you do it yourself. If you are on an annual plan and want to switch to Business, the answer says to reach out to the sales team.

A separate trial answer says a Business-plan trial gives full access to all Business features for 14 days, and that a credit card is required for the Business plan free trial. The Pro card, on the same page, says no credit card is required. Whether the box is worth owning is When n8n self-host is worth it. A hosting bill for that Community instance: —.

When Pro is enough

Stay on Pro when you still want n8n to host the instance, and the Business card does not name a gap you have. These rows are the 2026-10-07 read.

  • Hosted by n8n is still the requirement. The Pro card prints that. The Business card prints Self-hosted only.
  • Three shared projects are enough. The Pro card prints 3. The Business card prints 6.
  • Seven days of insights are enough. You do not need SSO and LDAP.
  • You do not need multiple environments, version control using Git, or queue mode for scaling. Those lines are on the Business card. They are not on the Pro card.
  • The card’s 10K workflow executions, with unlimited steps, is enough. Users stay unlimited on both cards.

Needing a larger execution step is a different control on the same pricing page. What happens when the allowance runs out is on When you hit the meter. Business overage is covered on n8n pricing explained.

When Business earns the step

Business earns the step when you will run n8n yourself and one of these is true on the 2026-10-07 read. A blank stays —.

  • SSO and LDAP is required. The Business card names it. The Pro card does not.
  • A fourth shared project is required. The Pro card prints 3. The Business card prints 6 shared projects.
  • You need multiple environments, or version control using Git. The Cloud comparison table’s visible columns are Starter, Pro, and Enterprise. Business is not a column. On that table, Environments and Version control using Git are absent on Pro and present on Enterprise. The Business card names both.
  • You need queue mode for scaling. The Business card names it. The Pro card does not.
  • Seven days of insights is too short. The Business card prints 30 days of insights. The 10K execution step on the Pro card is too small. The Business card shows 40K workflow executions, with unlimited steps. Other steps: —.

The Business card also names Assistant (preview). The pricing FAQ says that on self-hosted n8n, Assistant is available in preview and you bring your own key, so no credit limits apply. The Pro card’s Assistant credit count is on n8n Starter vs Pro. A credit count on the Business card: —.

What the Business card names

The Pro card says up to 50, and the Cloud table prints 20 / 50. Both of those Pro lines are quoted on n8n Starter vs Pro.

  • You need dedicated support with SLA. The Business card names forum support. The Enterprise card names dedicated support with SLA.

The Enterprise button is Contact Sales. The card says a custom number of workflow executions. A list price: —. The card also says everything in Business, plus external secret store integration, end-user credentials (preview), log streaming, extended data retention, and Assistant preview on request.
